100 innovation projects reach South Summit finals
A hundred startups have been selected for South Summit 2017. The selection committee was made up by 90 experts from a variety of fields. Established only five years ago, South Summit is the leading international event for entrepreneurs and startups in Southern Europe.
More than 3500 projects were entered, hailing from all over the world (72 countries). Up to 53% were international initiatives. The judges analysed them in terms of their compliance with five criteria: innovation added to the market, financial viability, technology scalability, the human factor and interest from potential investors.
The 100 selected startups are from a variety of countries: USA, Israel, UK, France, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Mexico and Chile. As to Spanish projects, there are successful entries from the regions of Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Andalusia, Galicia, Asturias, Castile-León, Basque Country and Navarra.
South Summit 2017 will be held at La N@VE in Madrid from 4 to 6 October. The selected startups will have access to training from leading professionals in each sector. They will also have the chance to meet investors from all over the world at Investors Den, take a look at the most disruptive innovations at Innovation Stage, or try state-of-the-art tools and get advice from more experienced entrepreneurs.
Every year, as many as 12,000 people attend South Summit – 650 of them are investors. The event is a perfect showcase for startups, offering visibility, business opportunities and the possibility to meet innovation seekers from around the globe.
