4th Marcathlon, a race for innovation and copyrights
The City of Madrid, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO), and the Spanish Trademark Association (ANDEMA) are organising the 4th Marcathlon, a recreational race to be held on 7 October with the aim of raising awareness of innovative companies’ contributions to social and economic wellbeing, as well as of the harm caused by the purchase of fakes.
The race, kicking off at noon, is open to all kinds of participants. The 5.2km course, unfolding in the AZCA gardens, will be punctuated by the steps followed by Spanish and international brands to reach end consumers: R&D+i investment, taxes, social security, hiring, quality assurance and safety standards, and so on.
The idea is to emphasise the economic and social importance of technological innovation, design and branding, and the need to protect the copyrights of companies and individuals.
Children’s gymkhana and gifts
There will be medals for the best three male and female racers, as well as certificates for top runners from industrial property agencies, offices or firms, trademark companies, the SPTO, or the security forces.
In addition, there will be a gymkhana for children over 6 and a dog show featuring the animals trained by the National Police.
All participants will get gifts from Marcathlon 2017 sponsors.
