To mark the inauguration of the historic Panama Canal Expansion works, Marca España acknowledged the important role played by Spanish construction firms, which are helming major infrastructure projects on five continents, with a new promotional campaign. “Spain Builds” was the title chosen to highlight Spanish leadership in this sector around the world.
The campaign includes an audiovisual piece, also titled “Spain Builds”, showing how Spain's highly varied geography has been a decisive factor for our companies, challenging them to develop innovative solutions which they then applied to international projects. By creating this modern, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure, Spain has built bridges and shortened distances, changing the paradigm of global communications.
Marca España has also launched a Spain Builds microsite, featuring different articles as well as audiovisual materials. These companies' leadership is also being highlighted through a campaign targeting social media, in Spanish and English, with the hashtags #SpainBuilds and #EspañaConstruye.
Two events have been held as part of the Spain Builds campaign, the first in June 2016 to mark the inauguration of the Panama Canal Expansion, a historic project being carried out by a consortium led by the Spanish firm Sacyr. Top executives from Spain's major infrastructure corporations addressed this landmark in a panel discussion on Spain's leading role in the industry worldwide.
In October 2017, an event, “Spanish Companies, Global Leaders in State-of-the-Art Railways”, which was held in Madrid's Railway Museum, also included the presentation of a new Marca España promotional video highlighting the strength of Spanish companies in this industry, and of a new brochure with information on the major projects around the world for which Spanish firms are partners.
